We, the volunteer youth workers from Daryl Sutherland’s current church, are writing to you because we believe you’re aware and supportive of the amazing and tireless work Daryl has done in our community over the last 30+ years. During one of our regular planning meetings this past spring, several of us independently felt the Holy Spirit prompting us to bless Pastor Daryl in the form of an “extreme home make over”. Because of the crazy schedule Daryl manages while leading the church’s Student Ministry, Missions and Outreach Ministry, and Benevolence Ministry, he has been unable to adequately stay on top of his home upkeep. The Sutherland family now finds their home in severe need of a number of repairs, and we believe God is calling us to lead a fundraising mission to tackle these repairs.
I Timothy 5:17 says: Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially they who labor in the word and doctrine.
We have already had several discussions with an excellent contractor in our church, and he is excited and motivated to direct the work and bring their home back to a quality, livable condition. We have the talent and plans…what we now need is lots of money!
The more money we have, the more we can bless Pastor Daryl and his family. We can’t wait to see God move and make our dream a reality for Daryl, Cheri, Kyndall, and Ky. We ask that you seek God’s guidance on what Daryl’s impact has meant in your life, and if led to do so, give generously to this mission. An account has been set up at Wachovia Bank under the name of Daryl’s Home Makeover. You can go into any Wachovia branch and ask to make a deposit to the account under that name. Also, if you’d prefer, you can write a check to the account name listed above and mail it to:
Mark and Holly Skinner

For any non-monetary donations (labor, supplies, etc) please contact us: dckk.makeover@gmail.com
We will be keeping the account open until November 30 - at that time we’ll be able to assess our funding and make final plans for the work, which we expect to undertake in the spring of 2011.
We also would like to keep any of you apprised of our progress, so you can subscribe to our blog to receive ongoing information and updates: http://darylshomemakeover.blogspot.com
We thank you so much for your consideration of this mission, for your prayers toward our cause, and for your help in spreading this word to anyone who might want to participate. We are keeping this a SECRET from Daryl because we don’t want his humility to interrupt our plans!! You all know he won’t feel worthy of this, but we trust the Lord knows better. We look forward to blowing him away with this living example of God’s love and faithfulness.
May God bless you all,
Daryl’s Youth Workers
